Duke Children's is pleased to announce the development of a special clinic that will address the special needs of children who have both celiac disease and diabetes. Families who receive care for their diabetes elsewhere are also welcome to attend the seminars. Please call Jean Litton, CDE at 919 684-6645 to schedule an appointment or obtain further information.
ADULT TYPE 1 GROUP
JDRF Outreach is pleased to announce the formation of an Adult Type 1 group. The group's focus will be support, education and participation in JDRF's continued search for the cure. We have compiled a SURVEY to find out what the needs and concerns are of the Adult Type 1 community and want to hear what you have to say. The Wilmington support group meets monthly and has many inspirational speakers and discussions. Monthly speakers have included Nutrionists, Psychologists, Podiatrists, Research Specialists, Athletes with diabetes and many more! Our Outreach Program enhances the JDRF mission by supporting and encouraging the people and families dealing with Type 1 diabetes and helping to build enduring relationships among these individuals.
